A Fantastic way to drive away boredom!

It is a miracle for that matter; the fact that it is so easy to get bored. More often than not, boredom strikes us when we least need it. Like on a Sunday when the weather is too cold to go outside and our minds are too full of all the books and studies or perhaps when on a late night when insomnia decides to befriend us. Speaking of me, personally, I rarely ever get bored. Lest when I do, that is probably the most vulnerable I get.
One Sunday afternoon, boredom struck me. And I couldn’t find anything to entertain myself. So, after hours of fidgeting with my phone and goofing around my house, I sat down in front of the T.V. and plugged in the movie my friend had recommended to me a few months ago. So I sat down, brought out some wafers and started watching,” Fantastic beasts and where to find them”.

I have always been a big fan of the famous Harry Potter world; both the movies and the books. I have been obsessed with the series ever since I read the first book. Yet, I had missed out on watching the prequel, “Fantastic Beasts”. As I started watching, in the very first minute, I was caught up as I heard ‘Hedwig’s theme’ playing in the background during the display of the ‘Warner Bro.’s’ title! I knew I was in for a mystical and enticing experience! And, after watching it, all I had to say was, ‘This was FANTASTIC!’ How the two hours passed so soon, I’ll never know!
The story revolves around Newt Scamander, an English wizard drifting around in America to help his magical creatures. He goes around New York with his enigmatic suitcase, filled with exotic and interesting magical creatures. During his journey, several conflicts arise, as some of his creatures escape the suitcase and set loose upon the city. He has several encounters with people of the American Magical Government, Magical Congress of the United States of America (MACUSA) who mistake him to be a criminal. On his journey, he befriends a ‘muggle’ (non-magical human) named Jacob and also two sisters, Tina and Queenie Goldstein. All the characters have their own little stories to tell! At the end of the movie comes a great twist which unveils the atrocious criminal, the”most wanted” Grindelwald from his disguise (Grindelwald: Dumbledore’s best friend and nemesis), who escapes soon enough. Well, that hints towards the possibility of a sequel, but who can tell after all?
Also, Newt is from the house Hufflepuff of Hogwarts and all through the movie one cannot miss the obvious Harry Potter references, like this one pertaining to Quidditch (football of Harry Potter world):

Woman asks,” Are you a seeker, a seeker after truth?”
Newt says,” I’m more of a Chaser really!”

The most amazing thing about this movie was undoubtedly, the protagonist Newt and the allure of his character and the radiance of his good heart. The character is played by Oscar winner Eddie Redmayne, and through the movie, we see how enthralling he really is. Among some more incredible catches in the movie are the mystical creatures like the  Niffler, Bowtruckles and Newt’s mating dance! Newt’s love for the creatures is beyond beautiful, as he treats them as his own. His bond with the creatures is spectacular and is sure to fill the spectator with awe!

And, with this movie, all my gloom and boredom was at bay, as I enjoyed a thoughtful and happy Sunday. I couldn’t praise the director David Yates enough and not to mention, J.K. Rowling’s creativity! The movie, the plot, the actors and the magical creatures were all marvellous and they are sure to bring a smile to your face. Especially, if someone is a Potterhead, this one is just for you!  So if you haven’t watched the movie already, go watch this Fantastic movie and lose yourself in the world of magic!
