A Clever Retort – By Child Author Srujana.K

Harry was studying in 4th grade. His classroom was on the ground floor. Above his classroom was the room of grade 10 students. The ceiling of his class was made of wood and there was a small hole right above his desk.

Mischievous students of the senior class use to throw paper balls down this hole. Their repeated complaints did not get any results so; he resorted to a trick.

One day he got fed up and drew an ugly figure of his headmistress. He wrote an ugly caption on it. He crumpled the paper into a ball and gave it to her.

She looked at him enquiringly and he told that it had come through the hole in the ceiling. She turned furious. She became extremely angry.

She stormed out of the classroom. Needless to say, no more paper balls dropped from the ceiling from that day.
